Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. In plain language.

Last updated: 31 October 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how FutureBytes ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit www.futurebytes.in (the "Website") or get in touch with us about our services.

We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 of India. We also aim to respect the rights of visitors from other places, including those covered by the GDPR. By using the Website, you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use our contact form, message us on WhatsApp, call us or reach us on social media, we may receive:

  • your name;
  • your phone number and/or email address;
  • your business or company name;
  • the service you are interested in, your budget range and details about your project;
  • anything else you choose to tell us.

Information collected automatically. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the Website is used. It collects anonymous, aggregated data such as pages visited, referring website, browser, operating system, device type and approximate country. It does not use cookies, and it does not identify you personally.

Information stored in your browser. We store your light/dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

3. How our contact form works

Our contact form does not send your details to our servers. When you press "Send via WhatsApp", the form opens WhatsApp with your message pre-filled, and nothing is sent until you send it yourself. Once sent, the message is handled by WhatsApp (operated by Meta Platforms) under WhatsApp's Privacy Policy, and we receive it on our business WhatsApp account.

4. How we use your information

We use your personal information only to:

  • reply to your enquiry and talk with you about your project;
  • prepare quotes and proposals, and deliver the services you hire us for;
  • send invoices and keep records for accounting and legal purposes;
  • improve the Website and our services using anonymous analytics;
  • comply with the law and protect our legal rights.

We use your information because you have given it to us for these purposes, because we need it to provide services you asked for, or because the law requires it. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not send you marketing messages without your consent.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only when necessary, with:

  • Service providers who help us run our business, such as Vercel (website hosting and analytics) and Meta/WhatsApp (messaging);
  • Tools needed for your project, such as domain registrars, hosting or payment providers, but only with your knowledge;
  • Authorities when the law, a court order or a government request requires it.

Some of these providers may store data outside India. When that happens, we rely on their security measures and on the safeguards the law requires.

6. Websites we build for clients

This policy covers only our own Website and business. It does not cover websites, apps or systems we build for our clients.

  • Each client owns and runs their own website. The client, not FutureBytes, decides what personal data it collects and how it is used, and is the "Data Fiduciary" (or "controller") for that data. Questions about a client's website should go to that client.
  • If we need to access personal data on a client's systems while building or supporting their website, we only do so on the client's instructions, for that work, and keep it confidential.
  • After handover, we no longer have access to, or responsibility for, the client's website or the data it collects. We delete any copies of client data we hold within a reasonable time, unless the client asks us to keep them or the law requires it.
  • Each client is responsible for publishing their own privacy policy and for complying with data protection law. We are not liable for how a client or their website collects, uses, stores or shares personal data.

7. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, usually no more than 24 months if we don't end up working together. For clients, we keep project and billing records for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. After that, we delete or anonymise the information.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information. The Website is served over HTTPS, and only people who need your information to work on your enquiry or project can see it. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct, complete or update it;
  • ask us to delete it, unless we have to keep it by law;
  • withdraw your consent at any time;
  • name another person to use these rights for you if you die or are unable to;
  • complain to the Data Protection Board of India or your local data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will reply within a reasonable time, and within the time the law allows.

10. Children

The Website and our services are meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Limits of our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage caused by information you send us over channels we do not control, such as WhatsApp, email or social media, or by events outside our reasonable control, such as a breach at a third-party provider. Our Terms & Conditions, including the limitation of liability, also apply to this policy.

13. Grievance Officer

Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, its rules, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can raise any complaint about how we handle your personal information with our Grievance Officer at +91 73062 93046 (call or WhatsApp). We will acknowledge your complaint and try to resolve it within 30 days.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are important, we may also let you know in other ways.
